php搜尋目錄下的最新檔案

我想用PHP寫寫一個能搜尋某個目錄下

最新的檔案(單一檔案) 的名稱

以及某段時間內的檔案(單一檔案) 的名稱

<?php
foreach (glob("./*.*") as $filename) echo basename($filename)."<br>";

這樣只能收尋目錄下全部的檔案
請問需要加上什麼

才能限制搜尋的時間範圍?
以及只搜尋最新的那個檔案?
