在新光銀行加入新光三越聯名卡發卡行列後，兩家銀行相繼推出優惠衝卡量，台新銀行17日更宣布，除目前的Visa卡外，增加MasterCard卡別，同時，加碼提供平日刷卡優惠。台新金個金執行長尚瑞強更表示，今年新光三越聯名卡新卡目標從原先的20萬張上調至25萬張。不過，對於與新光銀之爭，他則強調，發卡沒有勝負。
台新銀與新光銀的新光三越聯名卡發卡戰火，至今持續延燒，兩家銀行都祭出優惠吸引民眾辦卡，台新銀除原本流通卡數120萬張之外，今年上半年台新銀新光三越聯名卡新卡就有14萬張，在MasterCard加入，並加碼祭出平日店內消費享最高10%回饋等優惠後，台新銀預估將再掀起一波辦卡潮。
尚瑞強表示，原本今年新光三越聯名卡新卡目標是增加20萬張，由於MasterCard的加入，光是MasterCard年底發卡目標就有6萬張，因此，今年新光三越聯名卡新卡目標可望進一步提高至25萬張。
尚瑞強也提到，新光三越聯名卡是台新銀旗下發卡量最大的卡別，去年光是新光三越聯名卡的刷卡金額就高達新台幣600億元，今年預估刷卡金額還會再成長1成以上，而且目前新光三越卡的活卡率也比一般高有75%，每卡單月平均消費近7000元。
此外，由於新推出的MasterCard有鈦金卡與世界卡等級，尚瑞強預估，也可有效拉進高資產客戶。他說，雖然台新銀目前無限卡發卡量約5000張，但每卡每月消費金額高達6萬元，在世界卡加入後，可望拓展發卡空間。
