不少飼主都希望北捷放寬規定，開放大型犬也能搭捷運。

帶寵物上捷運，以往台北捷運規定必須將寵物裝在長55公分、高40公分的小籠子中，中大型犬根本無法列入規範。不過，現在中大型犬可能有望跟愛犬一起搭捷運出門，北捷與動保處開會，確定朝「放寬」寵物箱方向進行。
對此事民眾看法兩極，飼主希望北捷能夠放寬規定，部分民眾認為只要綁繩或做好衛生措施，可以開放大型犬上捷運，但也有民眾擔心寵物掉毛、吠叫等問題。
台北捷運公司表示，未來將考慮實施「一日大台北寵物友善日」，試辦中大型犬搭捷運，在一個月內評估可行性，但還是必須顧及大部分旅客權益。
