美國職棒世界大賽第3回，波士頓紅襪隊出征聖路易紅雀隊主場，結果紅雀隊靠著「再見妨礙跑壘」的判決，以5:4險勝，系列戰形成2:1領先。
由於事情來的太快，或許電視機的觀眾還比現場觀眾來的激動，主要原因就是三壘審Jim Joyce判了紅襪隊三壘手Will Middlebrooks絆住 Allen Craig讓他來不及跑回本壘，最後紅雀隊1分險勝。
把事情倒帶到事發前狀況，當時是9局下半，二、三壘有人的局面，結果Jon Jay先敲出二壘滾地球，二壘手 Dustin Pedroia先擋下傳回本壘給Jarrod Saltalamacchia觸殺 Yadier Molina。
接下來看到想要跑到三壘的Craig，Saltalamacchia奮力傳向三壘，卻發生暴傳。
因為暴傳的因素，Middlebrooks整個人身體都倒下，也意外導致Craig跌倒，就在他跌跌撞撞之下，跑回本壘已經來不及了，所以當主審擺出他安全回壘的手勢，全場紅雀迷都為之瘋狂。
賽後傳出這球的捕手Saltalamacchia說：「我根本想不到他會跑，但是此時你必須邊觸殺邊看。」
