火箭隊第三度挑戰，終於拿下本季對戰國王的第一勝。關鍵在於：魔獸Dwight Howard硬起來，26分13籃板4火鍋，打出跟前兩次交手時，不一樣的內容。

「過去兩次跟國王對打，無論攻守，我都不夠積極，」Howard說，「我看了比賽影片，希望這一次能有更好的開局，不只是得分有所表現，而是防守也要做好。」

火箭前兩次跟國王對戰，魔獸成績分別是13分10籃板、15分8籃板。事不過三，Howard這回繳出的成績單，比前兩次好上一截。

另一個不同的地方，則是James Harden。「他開始切入了，」火箭教頭Kevin McHale說，「我們要求球員們往裡頭打、製造壓力，他們照辦了。」
