Ash Beckham在某家餐館上班，她留著一頭極短的頭髮，並習慣穿著中性的服裝，每當餐館裡的小朋友疑惑地問她：「你是男生還是女生？」她總是無言以對，雖然心中充滿激動的情緒，但她無法用言語解釋心中的糾結和矛盾。面對社會上各種歧視的眼光，她變得非常偏激，為了保護自己，她武裝起來，對每個人都帶有戒心，準備攻擊和反抗。
