苗栗國中11日上午舉行103學年度新生始業輔導，為了給學生最深刻的印記，校方別出心裁編輯實用又值得收藏的學習手冊，延續傳統、推陳出新，設計精實且具教育意涵的課程，其中「新生禮」由新生親自寫下三年的願景激勵自己。

苗栗國中校長羅士侃指出，該校自90學年度舉辦「新生禮」以來，已跨越十幾個年頭，每一個木鐸之子，在入學的初始，都得依「傳統」填寫新生願景信，要求自己在三年的國中階段，在德智體群美各方面努力學習、成長，並面向聖山加里山宣誓，將願景信投入特製的願景罈裡封存，並捺下雙手的拇指印以示負責，三年後，畢業前夕再行開啟，檢視達成率。

羅士侃表示，歷年來，該活動都在學生心中留下深刻的正向力量。又「人文、隨緣、利他、創新」一直是苗栗國中積極創新教學活動的指標。而校方別出心裁編輯實用又值得收藏的學習手冊，以及設計精實且具教育意涵的課程，讓學生接受多面向的訓練，充實自我能力。
