據新華社報導，12月5日，中共中央政治局會議審議並通過中共中央紀律檢查委員會「關於周永康嚴重違紀案的審查報告」，決定給予周永康開除黨籍處分，對其涉嫌犯罪問題及線索，移送司法機關依法處理。
