禽流感疫情趨緩，農委會防檢局統計，目前全台共有14個縣市的雞鴨鵝送檢，累計達789場，通報異常的新增場數已從每天10幾20場，降為5場，顯示疫情趨緩。

農委會防檢局長張淑賢表示，目前暴斃和撲殺的家禽數量為461萬5275隻，即使疫情趨緩，防檢局仍會嚴密監控，儘速撲殺、清場，及消毒染病的禽場，一定要將病毒消除為止。

這波禽流感鴨場感染數較少，張淑賢表示，擔心鴨場成帶菌來源，已啟動採樣送驗，目前已驗46場，僅11場H初篩陽性，感染率遠低於鵝。而這11 場只是確認染H，但H有16種，是否染新型H5禽流感病毒，則需2天後才知道。
