美國公民去年放棄國籍人數創新高

美國公民去年放棄國籍人數刷新歷史紀錄，主因是美國政府實施俗稱「肥咖條款」的外國帳戶稅收遵從法（FATCA），要求外國銀行送交美國公民的資產資料。

美國財政部的最新數據顯示，去年有3,415名美國公民放棄國籍，改寫歷史紀錄，不僅高於2013年的2,999人，人數更是2012年的三倍以上。

根據FATCA，若美國公民在外國銀行帳戶的資產超過5萬美元，銀行業者必須上報美國政府，否則可能會被逐出美國市場。如今海外美國公民面臨的壓力愈來愈大，他們必須填寫詳細的納稅申報表，繳納海外所得稅。

此法案的原意是用來追查美國富人的海外逃稅行為，但意想不到的結果之一是美國公民乾脆放棄國籍。
