Small- to medium-size TFT-LCD panel and module maker Giantplus Technology has revealed that its sales from industrial applications grew 94.4% on year in 2014 while those in the vehicle segment grow over 47%.
Giantplus' profit margin reached 6.5% and an EPS of NT$0.20 in 2014 as the company focused more on niche products. 2014 net operating income grew 15.8% on year to NT$13.25 billion (US$422.61 million).
The company's moves also helped push its profit margin from 2.8% in the third quarter of 2013 to 7.7% in the fourth quarter of 2014. Giantplus will continue this strategy into 2015 and will decrease its revenue proportion from consumer products to 35% following increased efforts to develop other niche products for use in wearables, electronic tags and printers.
Giantplus Technology estimates that its overall 2015 financial performance will be on par with its results in 2014 and that revenues from niche products will increase from 40% in 2014 to 65% in 2015.
