嘉義縣動物保護協會今天依年初己排行程，到竹崎鄉鹿滿村宣導犬貓節育等，同時為會員施打狂犬病疫苗，由於是未發生狂犬病前的年度計畫，僅準備80劑，卻有1、200名鄉親到會場要求施打，造成現場一陣紛爭，他們說：「是鄉公所叫他們來這裡」。

但鄉公所承辦人員表示，鄉公所有既定施打疫苗計畫，包括日前的第一場在鄉公所，但從未宣傳民眾3日到鹿滿施打。家畜防治所下午緊急調來150劑，讓在場有領牌鄉親的貓犬都打得到疫苗，才順利解決搶狂犬病疫苗紛爭。
