從側面看，鼻頭、嘴唇與下巴應在同一條直線上。

依照人體美學的黃金比例來說，下巴的長度應該佔全臉長度的六分之一，或是雙唇閉合後，雙唇厚度的1.6倍；下巴最尖的位置，應該和眉心在同一個垂直線上。

對於下巴偏短、內縮的女性來說，利用微整型注射，可把下巴往下拉長，再往前作出漂亮的弧度(側面看起來會翹翹的)，馬上就可以看見手術成果。傷口也只有一個小針孔，恢復期很快。

由於鼻子與下巴的組織構造，與臉部其他部位有所不同，因此在要達到填補、又能有較高支撐度的，目前醫師多數會選用微晶瓷做為填補材質，因為微晶瓷材質屬生物軟陶瓷，生物相容性較高、也具生物可分解性。在微晶瓷晶球施打進皮膚後，會形成一個骨架，讓新生的膠原蛋白交錯鑲嵌於其中。由於支撐度較佳、不容易位移，因此可以拉出漂亮、利落的下巴線條。

此外，對於下巴會起皺(Dimple chin)者，還能加上肉毒(注射2-4點每點2u) 來平滑表面。 4D拉提則有緊緻下巴的效果。

總之，運用複合式微整可以得到滿意的效果。
