武器工具機賣北韓 台商在美認罪

美聯社報導，1名台灣商人今天翻供，就企圖規避美國禁令，提供北韓製造武器的工具機認罪，並同意與調查機關合作，希望能縮短刑期。

現年69歲的蔡顯泰戴腳鐐在芝加哥聯邦法院，透過中文翻譯受審。他承認犯下密謀罪，觸犯美國禁止大規模毀滅性武器擴散的法律。

蔡顯泰在長達24頁的認罪協議中表示，他設法向1家位在伊利諾州的某公司購買並出口的項目中包含中心孔研磨機，此裝置用途為製造武器時，可鑽出光滑、毫無偏差的洞。

密謀罪刑期最長可達5年，辯護律師休巴特（Steven Shobat）則表示，希望蔡顯泰刑期低於16個月，檢方則希望2年半左右。法官諾戈（Charles NorgleSr.）目前還沒決定刑期。
