海軍新一代高速戰鬥支援艦、排水量最大軍艦「磐石艦」明天將在台灣造船公司高雄修船碼頭舉行交艦典禮，國防部長嚴明將親自主持，接艦後即由海軍進行海上測試，預計今年底即可正式成軍，擔負國軍海上及外島的支援補給任務。

磐石軍艦滿載排水量約2萬859噸，艦長196公尺、寬25.2公尺、吃水8.6公尺、續航力8000浬，可乘載人員165人，磐石軍艦服役後，將是我國海軍噸位最大的軍艦。

磐石艦由台船建造，在2012年12月動工，2013年11月5日舉行下水典禮，原本預計2014年底可以成軍服役，不過因承造商台船高雄廠在去年3月負責船塢施工的大型吊車因風災受損而導致造船業務一度中斷，也連帶使得磐石軍艦完工時程受到拖延，交艦時間也延到2015年初。
