Facebook has an office in Taiwan mainly for educating local enterprises on how to use Facebook to attain commercial goals and training local Facebook advertising agents, according to Asia Pacific regional vice president Dan Neary for Facebook.
For these purposes, Facebook plans to hold various workshops, hackathons and roadshows, targeted specifically at advertising and media agencies, small- to medium-size businesses, brand vendors and application developers, Facebook said.
Facebook has seen significant achievement in helping businesses in Taiwan, Neary said. For example, online seafood retailer i3Fresh has hiked sales threefold through promotion on Facebook and cosmetics brand Estee Lauder has experienced much larger advertising effect of reaching target customers via Facebook than via TV, Neary indicated.
