據共同社報導，日本陸上自衛隊在靜岡縣東富士演習場舉行國內最大規模的實彈射擊訓練『富士綜合火力演習』。演習向到場的2.8萬名觀眾展示了海陸空自衛隊在進行聯合離島防衛作戰時最先進的10式坦克和迫擊炮的射擊能力。

根據人民網報導，演習以需要驅逐登上海島的敵人為假想。受雨霧等影響，需要使用航空機、直升機的內容多半被取消。在日中關係圍繞尖閣諸島(釣魚台)問題陷入緊張狀態的背景下，日方通過此舉展示了防衛省推行的離島防衛強化方針。

『富士綜合火力演習』始於1961年，演習場地為富士山腳下，此次是首度在富士山申遺成功後舉行，但據文化廳和靜岡縣稱，演習場不在世界遺產範圍之內，不存在問題。

日本防衛相小野寺五典及統合幕僚長(相當於總參謀長)岩崎茂等防衛省高層也前往視察。演習僅25日一天就使用了約44噸實彈，價值約3.5億日元。
