匈牙利國會通過新法律，規定明年初起多數大型商店周日不得營業，不顧民眾擔心此舉可能使更多人失業。

根據新法，明年3月15日起面積逾200平方公尺的商店周日不得營業，小型店如果由老闆或其親屬看管櫃台則不在此限。藥局、加油站、火車站和機場的市場及商店，也不受限制。

匈牙利總理奧班（Viktor Orban）的青年民主黨（Fidesz）主張沒有人應被迫在周日工作。但全國創業家和雇主協會表示，新法律可能危及「至少1萬個工作」。

全國創業家和雇主協會秘書長戴維（Ferenc David）表示，大型零售商及跨國投資人受到的傷害可能最大。他認為禁止商店在周日營業，是政府試圖趕走跨國企業及重新分配市場的手段之一。
