六歲的 Windows 7 已經老了，但至今仍佔所有桌面作業系統 56% 的市佔率這個事實，讓微軟都開始懷疑：Windows 7 會不會是下一代Windows 10最大的敵人，成就像當年的 Windows XP一般又愛又恨？
不只是微軟在設法擺脫對 Windows 7 的依賴，現在連蘋果都開始「嫌棄」 Windows 7 了。最新的 Boot Camp 文件顯示，新款 MacBook Air 和13吋 MacBook Pro 將不再支援用 Boot Camp 安裝 Windows 7，僅支援 Windows 8 及更高版本。
Boot Camp 是蘋果官方提供的一項工具，能夠幫助使用者在 Mac 上安裝微軟 Windows 作業系統，藉此來執行 OS X 和 Windows 雙系統。對一些習慣使用 Windows 系統，但又喜歡並購買了 Mac 電腦的用戶來說，Boot Camp 簡直是一大利器。
這並不是蘋果官方第一次不支持 Windows 7。2013 年 6 月，蘋果推出的新款商用桌上型電腦 Mac Pro 就已經不支援用 Boot Camp 來執行 Windows 7。不過，在此之前，2014 年發佈的 Mac 筆電仍然可以用 Boot Camp 安裝使用 Windows 7。
當然，如果你購買了新款 Mac 筆記型電腦，又不考慮升級到更新不多、並不具購買價值的 Windows 8 或 8.1。不必擔心，你可以試試 VMware Fusion、Parallels 等軟體，它們仍然支援在 Mac 筆記型電腦上跑 Windows 7 虛擬機器。
而在今年夏天，Windows 10 將正式發佈，考慮到微軟希望 Windows 10 結束 Windows 「碎片化」的現狀，或許明年新款 Mac 筆電連 Windows 8 都可能要拋棄了。
