天主教教宗方濟各上任滿兩周年時，抱怨身不由己，無法偷溜外出吃塊披薩，22日他終於嚐到披薩餅，雖然是由信眾將披薩送至教宗座駕。

披薩店老板卡齊亞利22日在教宗造訪以披薩聞名的那不勒斯時，手拿一個披薩，設法靠近座駕，最後將它送上座駕，贏得周遭的人歡呼叫好。

1994年，卡齊亞利的父親曾替來訪的美國前總統柯林頓烘烤披薩。他告訴媒體，這次他使用黃番茄，不用紅番茄，以反映教廷的顏色。

他說：「教宗充滿了喜悅，直接從我手中接走了披薩。」
