農曆羊年春節將至，羊年的英文說法是Year of the Goat，goat是山羊，但也有華人地區用羊的其他說法，包括ram（公羊）與sheep（綿羊），所以你也會看到「羊年」用Year of the Ram或Year of the Sheep來表達。
如同聖誕節對於西方人的重要性，國際間也愈來愈瞭解農曆春節對於華人世界的特殊意義，因此向外國客戶介紹農曆年節的點點滴滴，可以拉近彼此的距離，這對於國際業務的推動大有幫助！外國客戶會很樂意用英文學著說「恭喜發財」；發財者，財源滾滾又獲利頗豐是也：May you be prosperous!（恭喜發財！）
may是助動詞，在表示「許可」或是「請求許可」的時候，有「可以」之意，例如You may go now.（你現在可以走了。）與May I ask you a question?（我可以問你一個問題嗎？）。但是把may放在句首的直敘句句型卻是表示「祝、願」之意，例如「祝你成功！」是May you succeed!以及本句的「（祝你）恭禧發財」是May you be prosperous!
prosperous是形容詞的「繁榮的、富足的、興旺的、成功的」，既是繁榮富足，那當然也是生意興隆加上財源廣進、數鈔票等發財了。prosperous是形容詞，讀作[ˋprɑspərəs]，既然它是國際職場上描述事業成功的字眼，當然也是多益測驗的核心字彙。其動詞prosper更值得一學，是「使繁榮、使興盛」；名詞則是prosperity。
例句：
It has been a prosperous town since he became the mayor ten years ago.（自從他十年前成為鎮長，這裡已是非常繁榮的城鎮。）
His business has prospered for five years.（他的生意已興隆了五年。）
The president said that the future prosperity depends on economic growth.（總統說未來的繁榮要靠經濟成長。）
除了「恭禧發財」之外，還可以向外國客戶帶上兩句華人在農曆年節時的傳統習俗：
1. We would like to eat fish at family reunion dinner on Chinese New Year’s Eve, symbolizing “surplus”.（我們在除夕夜的團圓飯晚餐要吃「魚」，象徵「有餘」。）

surplus [ˋsɝpləs] (n./a.) 過剩；剩餘物；剩餘額
與「魚」同音的「餘」──surplus，可是多益測驗的必學英語字彙。

To promote the new products, the company plans to sell out the existing surplus.（為了促銷新產品，公司準備售完現有的過剩存貨。）
